The Bohemian brewery in Klaipėda, Šauliai street was left abandoned for a number of decades. Although the structure is found in an attractive location, the regeneration is quite complicated because of the complex and yet protected structure: inadequate layout and low-ceiling interiors.
The proposal bravely suggests to use the existing structure to develop a unique hotel with the interiors becoming a positive rather than a negative feature. The project advises to convert a street between Šaulių street and Herkaus Manto street into a pedestrian path, densify the area and turn it into a mixed-use city quarter to bring life throughout the day. These functions involve residential housing, cafes, shops and boutiques, while the building of the brewery would contain functions of larger scale – hotel, conference halls and a SPA.
